Science Year encouraged many organisations to create and/or give away great resources to Scottish schools. Funding from SEED enabled much of this generosity and the Science Year in Scotland team hopes that everyone will continue to benefit from these resources.
One of the last projects was to create a web-based resource for primary teachers (see below) but the list on the right, with its links to the 'More details' page sets out what's been made available.

Prizewinning Young Engineer discusses his burglar alarm system at the Celebration Event

Specially for Primary Schools
50 websites to stick on your wall!

All teachers with a Primary registration with the GTC for Scotland (and Headteachers of Scottish primary schools) received the colourful poster produced by Science Year in Scotland and enclosed with the autumn issue of Teaching Scotland magazine. Funded by SEED, this should be a valuable resource to support teaching of environmental studies and technology - as well as increasing use of ICT in the classroom.
The 50 sites listed on the poster are divided among the several strands of the 5-14 Guidelines. Some should be useful to you in lesson planning, others for working with your pupils in the classroom, while others are suitable for the pupils to access themselves.
If you can't find your copy or want one for home use, or even more to put on the classroom walls, then you can download an A4-sized version as a pdf file (235 Kb) for printing off yourself. You will need both Adobe Acrobat reader (see below) and, for best effect, access to a colour printer. Click here to download the file.
